Homebrewing Beer and Tie Dye? Why not?

April 18, 2008 By: CarpetGuy Category: What's New? No Comments →

wendellonian21 Homebrewing Beer and Tie Dye? Why not? This is another shirt that Wendellonian has done, this is a shirt that I gave him when he started home brewing beer with me, but he wouldn’t wear it until it was tie dyed! Now he can wear it!

Wendellonian, as he is called, is working on a few shirts right now, that I will have listed on here in a few days, that will be for sale. Remember, this is a hobby, but the guys doing the shirts are artists and each one is unique, and that is why they will be listed on here as 1 item only, once it is sold, that is it, there isn’t another that could ever be exactly the same, nor should there be.

There could later be a “standard” design or two, but, being a “real” hand tied, tie dye T-shirt, they cannot be identical, so that is something still being discussed, since just posting one picture and taking orders for that shirt, but delivering one that is even slightly different would be deceptive, and that will not be done here!

Therefore, you will notice, if and when a “standard” pattern is used, everything will be clearly marked as such, but personally, I doubt that will ever happen! Why am I writing about this? Well, I have heard of other “online” tie dye T-shirts being sold that way, without ever telling the buyer! They see a pattern or design that they like, order it and something similar, but different showed up, that’s just wrong!

Please post a comment, tell us what you want to see, tell us about your favorite design, and if you have a shirt, like the one in the picture, that you would like tie dyed, maybe we can work that out.

StuckntheSixties: Coming soon, your newest choice for Tie Dye T-Shirts on the Web!

April 14, 2008 By: CarpetGuy Category: What's New? No Comments →

wendellonian1a StuckntheSixties: Coming soon, your newest choice for Tie Dye T-Shirts on the Web!This is Wendellonian with one of the shirts he tie dyed this past weekend. No, this one is not for sale, it is just one he made for himself. So, why am I posting about it? Well, to tell you about the guys who will be making the shirts that you will find for sale here.

I guess i’ll start with me, I’m David, aka CarpetGuy, all I am doing on this project is this website, and as usual I may be jumping the gun a bit, but I like to get my work done, before I need to do it if possible. My hobbies are brewing beer and website design, so now you know why I am doing this, I love it!

The guys behind the shirts are also flooring people, that is how we know each other, I sell it, they install it, two sides of the same coin.

The main force behind this Tie Dye project, is known as Coldbeer, and believe me there is a reason for that nickname! Funny thing is, when he is working, he won’t drink, because when installing flooring knives are involved and he wants to keep his fingers!

Coldbeer’s plan is to make up a bunch of shirts, and sell his artwork to small stores and direct to individuals, just as his installation work is top notch, I expect that his tie dyes will be as well. He is a very detail oriented man and takes pride in his work, almost to a fault! If he can’t do it right, he won’t do it! So, once I get pictures of his shirts, and whatever else he may tie dye, posted here, you will see what I mean.

Wendellonian, in the picture, has been friends with Coldbeer, for decades, they both have always worn, almost exclusively, tie dyed T-shirts. I may be mistaken, but I believe they have been tie dying for at least 15-20 years, but just for their own use, or for friends. I’ll be honest, I don’t even know exactly what the plans are for this, I just took it on my own to build this site, just so that when the shirts start being produced for sale, I can get them to you from here, these guys are like family to me and since I am the computer geek of the bunch, I am just doing what I can to help! As time goes by, I will get more information on this and tell you all about it. Come visit us often, and expect some cool stuff soon!
